September 2012 Newsletter
Message From the President
I hope you all had a good summer and are feeling inspired by the sporting achievements of the Olympic and Paralympic competitors.
At our next evening meeting, 10th September, we welcome another SPWLA Distinguished speaker. Mike Webster will be talking about Production Petrophysics in a Mature Field Environment.
There is still time to book your place at our 18th September one-day seminar entitled “Practical Wellsite Petrophysics”. At the seminar we will be hearing about all those areas where petrophysics makes a positive and decisive contribution towards safe and successful wellsite operations and beyond. We have confirmed talks from Baker Hughes, BG Group, Gaia Earth Sciences, Geoservices, Halliburton, Kirk Petrophysics, Perenco, Schlumberger, Tullow Oil and Weatherford. See the website for details and a registration form.
We are starting to look forward to the AGM in November and the LPS committee for 2013 and beyond. There is currently a vacancy on the committee and if you are a member and you would like to volunteer some of your valuable time to helping to run the LPS, our Past-President, Adam Moss would like to hear from you (firstname.lastname@example.org)..
All the best
Mike Millar : LPS President
