Message From the President
Dear Members,
As we ease into the summer months we have some great evening presentations and one day seminars lined up for you. The last evening meeting on 26th March went very well indeed, presented by Thilo Wrona of Imperial College. The talk on Silica diagenesis in the North Viking Graben, northern North Sea was well received and I got some wonderful feedback after the event both in regards to the quality of the presentation and the fact that LPS sponsors such students.
June 2nd is a date to get in your diary now. We are very fortunate to have Dr. Paul Worthington to give a talk titled ‘Evaluation of water saturation from electrical measurements: Where are we now?’ This is surely going to be a fabulous evening and should be a talk that will inspire all, from student to seasoned Petrophysical expert. Paul will look at the how water saturation determinations started with Archie’s paper some 70 years ago to the complex situations we try to solve for now.
The next one day seminar will be held on June 25th and is titled ‘Permeability – from Reservoir Quality to the Simulator’. We have a Superb line-up of speakers, so this should be an excellent and thoroughly enlightening day. Please see website for registration details. I look forward to seeing you at these upcoming events.
Best Regards,
Iain Whyte
