December 2011 Newsletter
Message from the LPS President
Thank you to all members who attended the LPS Annual General Meeting. We formally presented last year’s accounts, approved the 2010 AGM minutes and voted in next year’s committee. See below for a fully list of the 2012 committee. A big thank you to all who volunteered for next year’s committee, I am sure you will continue to make the society as vibrant and active as ever. Daniela Pfrang (VP Newsletter) and Dick Woodhouse (VP Past President) will be leaving their posts at the end of this year. Thank you for all your help over the last few years and please pop by to see us whenever you can. The AGM finished off with a talk from David Fishman of Fugro Robertson on “Historical Oil Process and Forcasting”. David’s excellent presentation can be viewed on the website.
The programme for the “NMR Petrophysics” one day seminar on Thursday 15th December has been finalised. See this newsletter for the seminar poster and a registration form. Please get your registrations in to Ian Draper, email@example.com, as soon as possible to reserve your place.
We will be holding our Christmas Party/President’s Evening after the NMR seminar. The venue is round the corner from the Geological Society at The Clarence, 4 Dover Street, W1S 4LB, see this newsletter for a map. Baker Hughes and Schlumberger have very kindly agreed to sponsor the festivities which kick off at 6pm. All members and seminar attendees are welcome.
The first event of 2012 is already being planned. The annual New Technology seminar will be held on the afternoon of the 9th January at the Geological Society. The seminar is a chance for the service companies to show off their new tools and services. The event is free and both members and non-members are welcome.
This is my last newsletter as LPS President, I have really enjoyed my time in the post. Thank you to all the committee members for their hard work over the last two years and making the president’s job so easy.
All the Best
Adam LPS President
